Police have launched a manhunt following the discovery of a 33-year-old female teacher’s body at her residence in Mashamothane 2, Mmamatipa, in the Tubatse policing area of Limpopo.
The body was discovered at about 11am on Monday after her colleagues at Batau High School became concerned when she failed to report for duty and could not be reached on her cellphone, Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said.
The colleagues reportedly went to check on her and found her body at her home.
Police said the woman’s hands had been tied behind her back with cable ties and her body was in an advanced state of decomposition.
A murder case has been opened, and the motive for the killing is still unknown.
Police have appealed to anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact investigating officer Sergeant Mpho Mogale on 076 814 6522.
Information can also be reported at the nearest police station, through Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or via the MySAPS app.
