Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) head Andrea Johnson did not take the witness stand at the Madlanga Commission on Monday after she was reportedly admitted to hospital shortly before her scheduled testimony.
Her appearance before the commission was cancelled after commissioners were presented with a medical certificate explaining her absence.
Johnson had been expected to respond to allegations of misconduct levelled against her and the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption by several witnesses who have already testified before the inquiry.
The commission heard on Friday that Johnson, during her tenure as a senior prosecutor at the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), allegedly became involved in an assault case linked to controversial police general Feroz Khan.
Police Brigadier Lenora Phetlhe told the commission that Khan allegedly assaulted and intimidated her during an incident on 26 June 2018.
