Fourth accused added in Reiger Park shooting case

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has added Mcfoolen Ford as the fourth accused in the Reiger Park shooting case.

This was said by NPA South Gauteng Spokesperson Magaboke Mohlatlole .

Mohlatlole said Ford made his first appearance before the Boksburg Magistrates’ Court on Monday 7 September following his arrest on 4 September 2026 after further police investigations.

He is expected to appear alongside his co-accused, Regan Cheslyn Collins, 23, Jamal Meyer, 24, and Elvino Crawford, 27, on 8 September 2026 for a bail hearing.

All four accused face four counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, two counts of robbery with aggravating circumstances, as well as charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The charges stem from a fatal shooting in Reiger Park, Boksburg, on 7 August 2026, during which Roleen Lessing, Jayden Magerman, Constable Tomatsane and Constable Sibeko were killed.

Constables Tomatsane and Sibeko were members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) Anti-Gang Unit.

Mohlatlole said the NPA said would continue working closely with the investigating team to ensure that the matter proceeds in accordance with the law.
