Family of Late Lekompo Artist Appeals for Donations to Give Him Dignified Funeral

The family says financial constraints are delaying burial arrangements and has called on the public for support to ensure a respectful send‑off.

The family of the late lekompo artist Mpho Eric Ngoepe has appealed to South Africans to donate money so they can give the artist a dignified funeral following his tragic death in a car accident.

Ngoepe, popularly known as Nova Sa Style, died on Saturday, 9 May 2026, after being involved in a fatal accident that also left two other artists hospitalised. His passing has left fans, friends, and the Limpopo music industry mourning the loss of one of the province’s promising rising stars.

Nova Sa Style, who hailed from Mahwelereng Hospital View in Mokopane, had built a growing reputation in the Lekompo music scene through his energetic performances and dedication to his craft. Supporters described him as a hardworking artist who was passionate about music and determined to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry.

In a public appeal shared by the family, his mother, Dikeledi Luciah Ngoepe, said the family was struggling financially and needed assistance to cover funeral and memorial service costs.

“As we try to navigate and put together a dignified send-off for Mpho during this painful moment, we respectfully request donations for the memorial service and funeral arrangements, as the family cannot afford certain expenses due to financial constraints,” read the statement.

The family also revealed that Nova was the breadwinner at home, making the loss even more devastating financially and emotionally.

They appealed to members of the public, fellow artists, fans, and businesses to assist with financial donations or services such as catering, décor, transport, and other funeral-related needs.

Tributes have continued pouring in on social media, where many supporters remembered the young artist as humble, talented, and committed to uplifting Limpopo music. Others expressed sympathy for the two artists who survived the crash and are still recovering in hospital.

The tragedy has once again highlighted the difficult financial realities often faced by emerging artists and their families, especially after sudden deaths.

Community members and fellow musicians have already begun rallying behind the Ngoepe family, with many calling on the public to support the family during their time of grief.

The family said every contribution, no matter how small, would help ensure Nova Sa Style receives the farewell he deserves.
