Controversial businessman and socialite Thami Ndlala, who is married to flamboyant Metro FM presenter Lerato Kganyago, was arrested by police outside the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Ndlala was nabbed outside Court 20, where he had appeared in connection with a domestic violence protection order application brought by former Miss South Africa finalist Blue Mbombo.
He allegedly tried to flee when police officers moved in to arrest him, but they caught up with him and bundled him into a police vehicle.
Ndlala is facing charges of intimidation and extortion, despite claiming on social media last week that the charges had been dropped.
His arrest comes as his legal dispute with Mbombo continues to unfold in court, with the latter seeking protection against him.
Chris Molefi, the lawyer representing the parties in the Ndlala-Mbombo matter, said he was not authorised to comment on the developments.
Molefi said he had not received instructions from his clients to speak to the media and that they would have to await an official statement before making further comments.
It was not immediately clear when Ndlala would make his next court appearance.
