Television personality Blue Mbombo, real name Thandi Mbombo, has alleged to having an extramarital affair with Metro FM presenter and DJ Lerato Kganyago’s husband, Thami Ndlala.
She also claimed that Ndlala has threatened to kill her and her daughter after their adulterous affair petered out.
Mbombo alleged this in the interim protection order she obtained against Ndlala at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court last month.
In her application, Mbombo alleged that Ndlala threatened delete her and her four-year-old daughter during a telephone call on 30 August.
“The respondent threatened me with my minor child, stating that I should choose if I die first or if my minor child (daughter) should die first,” she stated.
“I’m extremely fearful as he knows where my minor child and I reside and where she schools.”
Mbombo further alleged that after opening a criminal case against Ndlala, a friend informed her that Ndlala had contacted him and allegedly claimed that Midrand Police Station was “his” and that she would not succeed with the case she opened against him.
She also alleged that Ndlala threatened to publish intimate photographs of her that he had allegedly taken without her knowledge.
“As media personality such publication could cause significant and irreparable harm to my reputation and career,” Mbombo stated.
She asked the court to urgently interdict and prohibit Ndlala from publishing, distributing, sharing or otherwise disseminating any intimate or compromising images or material relating to her without her consent.
Mbombo also stated in the protection order application that Ndlala had multiple firearms and that he was always carrying one.
“I fear for my life and life of my 4-year-old daughter, whom he has already threatened to kill as well,” she stated.
She further asked the court to prohibit Ndlala from circulating her personal information, including court documents, on social media and mainstream media.
Mbombo also alleged that Ndlala had harassed her using different telephone numbers and sent people to contact her friends and family.
The protection order was granted at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on 22 September 2026, with Ndlala expected to appear in the same court on 12 October to explain why the order should not be made permanent.
On the 29th September 2026; Midrand Magistrate's Court dismissed Blue Mbombo's criminal case against Thami Ndlala.

Mbombo, did not end there, she even went to press criminal charges against Ndlala at Midrand Police Station. In a police statement which Africa Daily has seen, Mbombo said she fears for her life after receiving threats from her “ ex boyfriend”.
“Complainant alleged that she got involved or in a relationship with a man named Thami and during the relation he bought her expensive gifts and as time went by she became uncomfortable with his controlling behavior and has threatened to harm or kill her if she doesn’t continue with the relationship . He even sent disturbing videos of a person being shot and confirmed to have organised a hit on her unless she pays him R200 000 that he claimed he spent on her during the time they were still romantically involved. She has managed to keep evidence of the threats and videos sent by him and fears for her life,” reads the truncated the statement.
News that Mbombo has opened a case against Ndlala and even obtained a protection order against him became known after Ndlala attached the copy of the protection order to the lawsuit papers he filed in the Joburg High Court where he is suing Mbombo R1 million for defamation.
This he said, was for allegedly spreading lies about the so called illegal congress with him and for lying that he threatened to kill her and her four-year-old daughter.
He said Mbombo’s description of him as her “ex-boyfriend” was false and that he was married throughout the period in question. He said they only had a professional relationship.
“The relationship between the plaintiff and defendant was professional. The plaintiff was never the defendant’s boyfriend and was never involved in an intimate or sexual relationship with her,” his papers state.
Ndlala said he and Mbombo became acquainted through professional dealings relating to the promotion of Ndlala Mall.
According to his court papers, an influencer contract was prepared in February 2025 for Mbombo to produce three Instagram reels promoting Ndlala Mall for R105,000.
He said the parties communicated in connection with their professional dealings and that, on 28 March 2026, Mbombo sent him a WhatsApp message seeking his assistance with difficulties involving a person she described as “my partner”.
Ndlala denies making any of the threats alleged by Mbombo.
He also denies taking intimate photographs of her without her knowledge, threatening to publish such photographs or claiming control over Midrand Police Station.
“The plaintiff did not threaten to kill or harm the defendant or her child,” his papers state.
Ndlala further claims that the allegations portrayed him as a violent and dangerous man who threatened to kill Mbombo and her child, intended to publish intimate photographs without her consent and claimed improper influence over the police.
He stated that Mbombo opened a criminal complaint against him at Midrand SAPS during September , repeating the allegation that he had threatened to kill her and her four-year-old daughter.
Ndlala says the allegations were subsequently brought to the attention of several SAPS members, who confronted him about them.
He claims Mbombo later escalated the complaint to Provincial Deputy Commissioner Fred Khekane at the provincial office.
“The allegations were false. The plaintiff made no such threats,” Ndlala states in his papers.
He further alleges that Mbombo knew the allegations were false and made them with the intention of damaging his reputation.
Ndlala argues that, even if Mbombo sought to rely on the protection afforded to people who report suspected offences, she abused that protection by allegedly making false allegations for the purpose of having criminal proceedings instituted against him and obtaining a protection order.
He claims the allegations have damaged his reputation, good name, standing and dignity.
Ndlala describes himself as a businessman who conducts business in South Africa and abroad, has substantial property interests and undertakes work in the entertainment industry.
He says he has an established personal and professional reputation among business associates and people with whom he works in the property and entertainment industries, both locally and internationally.
He further states that many of his buildings in South Africa are branded with his personal name, “Thami Ndlala”, which he says is recognised globally in the entertainment industry.
Ndlala is seeking R1 million in general damages from Mbombo, as well as interest and legal costs.
