Meet the woman behind DJ Warras’ murder

Gauteng police are appealing to the public for information that could help them locate Hlengiwe Goodness Buthelezi, who is wanted in connection with the murder of Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock.

Buthelezi faces charges of murder and attempted murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Stock, who was killed outside the Zambesi Building in the Johannesburg CBD on December 16, 2025.

Police spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said detectives attached to the provincial serious and violent crimes investigation unit are searching for Buthelezi.

The police appeal comes after the Johannesburg High Court on Wednesday postponed pretrial proceedings in the case against alleged mastermind Victor Mthethwa Majola to September 18.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) opposed a defence application to postpone Majola’s case, saying the State was ready to proceed with the trial.

Majola, 44, is facing charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with Stock’s killing.

The defence requested a postponement to obtain financial instructions, but the State opposed the application, having already served the defence with the relevant documentation.

The court granted a final four-week postponement to give Majola’s counsel time to secure funding.

The matter will return to court on September 18.

Majola is charged alongside 25-year-old Joaquim Armando Pacula, who previously pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 25 years’ direct imprisonment.

NPA Gauteng spokesperson Magaboke Mohlatlole said the State would be ready to proceed when the matter returns to court.

The NPA has maintained that it remains committed to ensuring the case is dealt with expeditiously while respecting the accused’s constitutional right to a fair trial.
