Acting national police commissioner Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane has welcomed the arrest of a senior police officer who faces charges relating to the alleged sexual grooming of a 16-year-old girl and the alleged rape of an 18-year-old woman.
In a police statement released on Monday 21 September , Dimpane said the 59-year-old officer, who holds the rank of lieutenant general, was arrested on Monday by members of the Commissions Recommendations Task Team (CRTT).
The alleged grooming of the 16-year-old is said to have occurred between July and August 2026, while the alleged rape of the 18-year-old woman reportedly took place at a hotel in Sandton in May.
The officer is expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
