A senior member of the South African Police Service (SAPS) has been arrested in connection with the alleged rape of a minor.
The police officer, who is believed to be one of the SAPS commissioners, was arrested on Monday, September 21, at the Life Grand nightclub in Sandton.
The arrest reportedly took place in the presence of patrons at the venue.
The minor is believed to be 16 years old.
The circumstances surrounding the alleged rape and the officer’s arrest have not yet been disclosed.
He is expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court tomorrow
