Sixth woman’s body found on East Rand as serial killer fears grow

Police are investigating after the body of another woman was found on the East Rand on Tuesday morning.

The woman’s remains were discovered near a church along Sekhukhuni Street in Kwa-Thema, Springs.

The latest discovery means six women’s bodies have been found in the area in recent months.

Investigators are now examining possible links between the cases amid concerns that a serial killer, or more than one killer, may be behind the deaths.

The development comes a day after the family of missing runner Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo confirmed her identity.

Moselakgomo’s remains were found in Kempton Park over the weekend, following her disappearance.
