A 23-year-old alleged gangster accused of being involved in the killing of two Gauteng Anti-Gang Unit members has appeared in the Boksburg Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
Reagan Cheslin Collis faces four counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, two counts of robbery with aggravating circumstances, as well as charges relating to the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
His case was postponed to August 25, 2026, for a formal bail application.
Collis is accused of taking part in the killings of SAPS Anti-Gang Unit members Constables Tlomatsana and Sibeko, as well as two civilian women.
Hawks spokesperson Colonel Katlego Mogale said Collis was arrested during a multidisciplinary tracing operation over the weekend.
The operation resulted in the recovery of two R5 rifles at the KwaDukathole Informal Settlement in Germiston.
Mogale said the operation was led by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation’s (DPCI) Serious Organised Crime Investigation, supported by Gauteng Crime Intelligence Tactical and Special Operations, the Provincial Tracking Team, Tactical Response Team, Anti-Gang Unit and PRASA.
According to Mogale, Collis was out on bail when he was arrested and was already facing several pending cases.
These include two counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
The recovery of the two R5 rifles forms part of an ongoing investigation into the killings and the criminal network allegedly linked to the violence.
Collis made his first appearance in the Boksburg Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, investigators are continuing to pursue other suspects who may have been involved in the killings.
“Further arrests have not been ruled out,” Mogale said.
The Hawks said the DPCI and SAPS remained committed to dismantling criminal networks, removing illegal firearms from communities and ensuring that those responsible for violence against police officers and civilians are brought to justice.
