Fans warned to come early ahead of the sold-out MTN8 final

Football fans heading to Saturday’s blockbuster MTN8 final between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns have been urged to arrive at Moses Mabhida Stadium as early as possible to avoid delays and congestion.

With the highly anticipated clash expected to attract a capacity crowd, the Premier Soccer League will not want unnecessary delays before the two giants get down to business at 6pm on Saturday, October 10.

Supporters with valid digital tickets have therefore been advised to make their way to the Durban stadium well before kick-off to allow enough time for entry and security procedures.

But there is an even stronger warning for those who failed to secure tickets.

Fans without valid tickets are advised not to come anywhere near Moses Mabhida Stadium, as there will be no tickets sold at the venue or at any physical ticket outlets.

All available tickets for the eagerly anticipated final were snapped up within hours of going on sale on Friday, confirming the enormous interest surrounding a match that pits two of South Africa’s biggest football clubs against each other.

The PSL has confirmed that there are no valid tickets available for sale online, while supporters who already have tickets can only transfer them digitally through OpenTickets.

The sold-out final promises to produce a spectacular atmosphere as Pirates and Sundowns renew their growing rivalry in the MTN8.

The two clubs have emerged as the pre-tournament favourites and will meet in the competition for the fourth time in the last five seasons, adding another chapter to an increasingly familiar cup rivalry.

For both sides, however, history will mean little once the whistle goes.

The MTN8 final represents the first domestic cup final of the season and offers both clubs an opportunity to claim early silverware and establish themselves as the kings of the Top Eight competition.

A packed Moses Mabhida Stadium is expected to provide the perfect stage for what could be a tense and explosive encounter.

Those unable to secure tickets will not be completely left out of the action, with SuperSport PSL and SABC 1 providing live television coverage of the final.

The message from the organisers is therefore clear: ticket holders should arrive early, while those without tickets should stay away from the stadium precinct.

There will be no last-minute ticket miracle at Moses Mabhida.
