Additional charges have been added against Limpopo businessman and LADGAC Rehabilitation Centre owner Tsebe Phillimon Moloto, who is now facing charges of arson, five counts of attempted murder and trespassing.
Limpopo National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Mashudu Malabi confirmed that the charges were added following further investigations.
Moloto, 51, appeared in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
He initially faced two counts of malicious damage to property and was released on R50,000 bail during his previous court appearance.
Malabi said Moloto and the complainant were previously involved in a romantic relationship and were business partners at the LADGAC Rehabilitation Centre in Seshego.
“Their personal and business relationship later broke down, after which the complainant established her own rehabilitation centre,” said Malabi.
The State alleges that on 28 June 2026, Moloto poured a flammable substance onto a Toyota Hilux belonging to the complainant.
The vehicle was parked in a garage at the complainant’s parental home in Seshego Zone 3 and allegedly caught fire while several people were inside the house.
This resulted in the five attempted murder charges, according to Malabi.
In a separate incident, Moloto allegedly set alight a signboard advertising the complainant’s new rehabilitation business in Ladanna.
The matter was postponed to 30 October 2026 for a decision by the Director of Public Prosecutions on the appropriate forum in which the matter should be tried.
Moloto remains out on R50,000 bail.
The charges against him remain allegations until proven guilty in court.
