Wedding bells are set to ring for ANC Youth League President Collen Malatji.
Africa Daily can reveal that Malatji is preparing to exchange vows with his longtime partner, Tsholofole Sekete, in a traditional wedding ceremony set to take place in Tafelkop in Limpopo on 26 September 2026.
The two lovebirds, who have built a life together over several years, will officially celebrate their union in the presence of family, close friends and invited guests. The shindig is expected to honour African customs and traditions while marking a significant milestone in their relationship.
The jamboree comes after years of the pair standing by each other through Malatji’s rise in politics. Tsholofole, who has largely kept a low public profile despite her partner’s political prominence, is also the mother of Malatji’s children.
News that Malatji will walk down the aisle in a wedding of cosmic proportion came to the fore after a wedding invited was circulated among the firebrand politician’s close allies on Monday 13 June 2026.
Those close to the family describe the knee up as a celebration of love, commitment and family values, with preparations for the traditional ceremony already well underway.
A deep throat familiar with the arrangements said the couple had always intended to formalise their union through a traditional wedding when the time was right.
“They have been together for a long time and have built a beautiful family. This wedding is something they have both been looking forward to, and their families are excited to witness this special day,” the source said.
Malatji has become one of the country’s most recognisable young political figures since taking the reins of the ANC Youth League, but those close to him say family has remained central to his life despite the demands of politics.
The traditional do is expected to blend cultural customs with a joyous family celebration, reflecting the couple’s shared values and heritage. It will also formally unite the two families in accordance with tradition.
Another mole said the couple wanted the occasion to focus on their loved ones rather than politics.
“This is not about political positions. It is about two people who have loved each other for years, raising their children together and now taking the next step with the blessing of both families,” the source said.
The ceremony on 26 September 2026 is expected to mark the beginning of a new chapter for Malatji and Tsholofole as husband and wife, surrounded by the people who have supported their journey from the beginning.
Although Malatji is accustomed to the spotlight, the couple is expected to keep the celebrations largely private, choosing instead to share the day with those closest to their hearts as they officially cement their lifelong commitment to one another.
Malatji could not be reached for comment at the time of publication.
