Orlando Pirates will have to wait another week before realising their dream of being crowned Betway Premiership champions. This comes after they were held to a goalless draw by stubborn Durban City in a sold-out match at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
Pirates went into the encounter needing a victory that could have secured their first league title since 2012, but it was not to be as the Durban-based outfit, who recently lifted the Nedbank Cup, had other plans.
The draw means log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns remain top of the standings with 68 points after completing their league programme on Tuesday. The Buccaneers are two points behind heading into the final round of fixtures.
The mighty Sea Robbers now need nothing less than victory in their final match away to relegation-threatened Orbit FC on May 26 to be crowned champions. A draw in that encounter would hand Sundowns the league title without kicking a ball.
