ANC Women’s League gathers in Ivory Park ahead of deputy president’s arrival

IVORY PARK – Members of ANC Women’s League gathered at Eqinisweni Secondary School in Ivory Park on Friday morning, singing and dancing as they waited for the deputy president Paul Mashatile to arrive for the party’s election trail.

Dressed in the ANC’s signature yellow, green and black, supporters assembled beneath party-branded gazebos outside the school, creating a lively atmosphere ahead of the official start of the programme.

The women sang, danced and chanted struggle songs as they waited at the entrance to the venue, forming part of the visible mobilisation effort ahead of campaign activities in the area.

The gathering reflected enthusiasm among ANC Women’s League members, who turned out in party colours, many carrying ANC-branded bags and wearing hats and T-shirts bearing the organisation’s insignia.

As more supporters arrived, the atmosphere remained energetic at the entrance, with singing and dancing building anticipation for the deputy president’s arrival.

The Women’s League’s presence highlighted the role of party structures in mobilising supporters on the ground during campaign activities.

Eqinisweni Secondary School served as the meeting point, with members congregating outside the premises as they waited for proceedings to begin.

The deputy president’s arrival is expected to mark the start of the campaign programme, with supporters assembled and ready to participate.

While the crowd continued to wait at the entrance, the singing and dancing provided a focal point, with members standing together beneath the party tents.

“Leadership doesn’t stick to his time,” said one of the women, reflecting impatience among some supporters who felt they had been waiting too long.
