DJ Black Coffee’s DJ friend has revealed that his wife has made mystery trips to a dingy Pretoria hotel, spending about an hour there before returning to their matrimonial home.
He said his wife undertook these trips while he was plying his trade overseas with Black Coffee.
The husband also said when his wife returned to their marital pad from the hotel, she looked different from when she left.
The explosive details are contained in the affidavit filed by Black Coffee’s friend in the Joburg High Court, where he is challenging his wife’s divorce application.
Africa Daily cannot reveal the identities of the couple for legal reasons and to protect the identities of their children.
According to the affidavit, which Africa Daily has seen, the singer visited the hotel, known to Africa Daily, in Pretoria on August 6 and 8, 2025.
He said he decided to probe her movements after one of his children expressed concern about her throwing loud soirees in their marital crib, saying that she would disappear and return to the pad looking a bit scruffy.
Her husband says a vehicle tracking report showed that she spent just under an hour at the hotel on both occasions.
He said when he questioned her about the visits, his wife evaded his questions and instead accused him of cockpecking her.
The mystery surrounding her movements allegedly began earlier, when one of her stepchildren visited her in July 2025 and stayed at the matrimonial home.
According to the affidavit, the child complained to him about the number of parties allegedly being hosted by his stepmother at the family home.
The husband says his son was particularly concerned about the alleged drinking and smoking taking place in the presence of his sibling, the child his father had with the singer.
“(Name withheld) complained that there were too many parties that were being hosted by his stepmom at the matrimonial home,” the husband states in the affidavit.
He says his son told him the parties were “mainly characterised by heavy drinking and indulgent smoking”.
DJ Black Coffee’s friend further alleged that his son also raised concerns about his stepmother’s movements, telling his father that she had started leaving the house and returning at odd hours.
The husband claims his son noticed that “the countenance and arrangement of her clothing and hair would be different when she would leave” compared with when she returned.
The husband says he initially dismissed his son’s concerns and told him to respect the relationship between himself and his wife.
But according to the affidavit, the child later became concerned about how the alleged lifestyle could affect his sibling and specifically pointed to August 6 and 8 as suspicious dates.
The husband says he subsequently requested a tracking report for the Volvo used by his wife.
He said the report showed the vehicle travelling to the hotel on both dates.
The husband also claims that his wife was speeding on August 8 while travelling from the matrimonial home, resulting in a R310 speeding fine issued by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department at 10.39am.
The court papers further allege that during July and August 2025, there were frequently visitors at the matrimonial home when his younger child went live on TikTok, many of whom the husband says were unknown to him.
He attached a photograph to his affidavit which he says shows his wife dancing at the family home with bottles of alcohol on a table beside her.
The husband also alleges that his firstborn told him his stepmother would sometimes disappear without answering calls and later return home drunk.
“This was very uncharacteristic of my wife,” the husband says in the affidavit, adding that he initially dismissed the allegations made by his son.
The hotel visits allegedly became a major point of contention between the couple.
The husband says he asked his wife what she was doing at the hotel on the two occasions, but claims that she did not provide him with an explanation.
He says the conversation “quickly turned hostile”, with his wife allegedly accusing him of attacking her.
The husband acknowledges that their relationship had previously survived an incident in 2022 when his wife discovered that he had been flirting with a woman from London through messages.
He says they attended couples counselling, he apologised and his wife forgave him.
He claims the latest confrontation over her movements resulted in his wife accusing him of verbally attacking her and calling her a woman of loose morals.
