Egypt beat Cameroon 3-1.
The game saw an interesting first half with the Cameroons coming in strong against the Pharaohs.
Cameroon came close to obtaining a lead in the 18th minute with a free kick, Micheal Ngadeu jumped over all the defenders to head the ball towards goal, but the ball hit the post.
Carlos Queiroz made his first substitution of the night during half-time by subbing on Mahmoud Trezeguet for midfielder Amr El-Sulya.
Second half saw Cameroon coming back in the same high spirits but still no goals, a few substitutions were made from both teams, with the last two substitutions made by the Pharaohs 5 mins before the end of the game.
Egypt was without a coach on the bench towards the last minutes of the game after Queiroz was given a second yellow card after an exchange with the officials, joining his assistant Roger de Sa in the stands and the sides eventually went to extra-time.
Extra time ended with a goalless draw of 0-0 and was sent to penalties.
Apart from Aboubakar, the three remaining Cameroon players missed their penalties, with Abou-Gabal saving two, while the Egyptians scored all three to reach the final, where they will face Senegal.
Egypt reached their 16th AFCON semi-finals, to become the team with the most semi-finals appearances in the tournament’s history.
