Independent Electoral Commission launches 2019 elections, 10 Jan

Gauteng South Africa: The Independent Electoral Commission is expected to launch the 2019 national and provincial elections on the 10th of January 2019 at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Gauteng.

 

The purpose of the launch is to unveil the Electoral Commission’s communications campaign and the logo for the elections, and also to inform the South African electorate and the general public on the following: readiness for the final voter registration weekend and unveiling of the registration campaign and elections logo.

 

Stakeholders from different entities nationally and provincially which will include the key electoral role-players such as political parties; judiciary, members of parliament, government, business, ambassadors and non-government organisations amongst others will also be in attendance.

 

The IEC is are a permanent body created by the Constitution to manage free and fair elections at all levels of government. Although publicly funded and accountable to parliament, we are independent of the government.
